HenryStiles | the following link states ghostscript is 3rd largest pdf creator. http://itextpdf.com/blog/itext-world%E2%80%99s-4th-most-widely-used-pdf-generator ... wanted to get more details, particularly when the study was done. The article just says Adobe presented it at the PDF technical conference in San Jose. I see one of those conferences was on 2015 but I'd expect there has been more than one. Anybody have more on this? | 18:51.21 |
kens | Never seen any such figures myself | 18:53.11 |
| Its kind of difficult to read that graph though since its all shades of gray except iText | 18:54.08 |
HenryStiles | years back I met with an adobe employee at graph expo at that time we were 2nd! MS has displaced us :-( | 18:55.06 |
kens | Because Office can output PDF now | 18:55.20 |
HenryStiles | yup | 18:55.31 |
kens | Just guessing but I expect that's true | 18:55.31 |
| I'm somewhat surprised that so many PDF files are manufactured by Ghostscript anyway really | 18:56.06 |
HenryStiles | 15 years ago not so surprising, currently it is not what I expect, which is why I was hoping to find a date for this study. | 18:59.04 |
sebras | tor8 (for the logs): sebras/output-formats contains a trivial output format for png as a test to see that I know what I'm doing. | 23:58.50 |
| tor8: you did mention being paranoid about the %d, but OTOH we already accept this for mutool draw -o, so does it really matter? | 23:59.35 |
| tor8: if it does then I'd prefer to fix mutool draw first. | 23:59.51 |
