but I happened to attach the PDF file generated with GS 7.00 (which
works fine).  Also, I mistakenly referred to GS 8.13 while I really
meant 8.14.  To this mail, I attach both the .ps file and the
corresponding PDF file generated with the ps2pdf in GS 8.14. 

This time you can indeed see the font rendering problems in the PDF file
(view with Acroread and see the distorted courier text and the
distorted numerals).
