[bug-gs] Font embedding issue

Symptoms:
The attached file is PostScript output from Adobe Reader 7.0.7 using "Print
to file" and the Ghostscript 8.53 PDF driver (Font and Resource Policy: Send
at Start).

Ghostscript 8.50 ps2pdf on this file does not properly embed the
Helvetica-Condensed-Bold (Adobe Sans MM) font; those characters in the
resulting document are too wide.  However, 8.51 and 8.53 create a document
60% larger, with around 50 embedded font subsets, while Adobe Reader or
pdfinfo lists about 10 fonts used in the original.   (Disabling font
subsetting creates a huge file.)  Presumably this causes the substantial,
undesireable increase in file size?  Surely in this situation Ghostscript
should be embedding only a single copy of each font in question?

I have seen the same situation in other documents where there is no
significant difference in visual appearance, yet the file sizes are markedly
different.
