I have used GhostScript and GSView32 for a long while now and had an idea to
check to see if it could handle pdf files. Since it did, I figured I would
update it to the latest version, since it couldn't handle some of the newer
pdf files. When I tried opening a pdf file with GSView32, it gave me an
error no matter which pdf file I tried. I also tried opening a ps file from
the http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/ website. Unfortunately that doesn't work
either. Can anyone help? Any help would be appreciated. The reason why I am
trying GhostScript for the pdf files, is because for a while I have troubles
with Adobe Acrobat on my computer.
The log information that was generated when I attempted to open the pdf file
was:
AFPL Ghostscript 7.04 (2002-01-31)
Copyright (C) 2001 artofcode LLC, Benicia, CA. All rights reserved.
This software comes with NO WARRANTY: see the file PUBLIC for details.
Unrecoverable error: invalidaccess in .setdevice
Operand stack:
--nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --no
stringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval--
Failed to open device or install ViewerPreProcess hook: returns -7
The versions that I downloaded and installed were AFPL GhostScript 7.04, and
GSView32 4.0
