[bug-gswin] cant get clear background on colour preview

I'm using GS8.0 with Epstool 3.0 - I've tried all the devices under bmp and tif. 
When the EPS and  preview is called into Quark it has a white background on all colour previews and transparent on bmpmono. 
Is there a way of switching to a transparent background with colour preview ?
