Hi,

I managed to compile ghostPCL 1.40 with MSVC++6.0 SP5 according to the docs
in ghostpcl.pdf for use on WindowsXP.

But when I list my devices I do not see a pdfwrite or pdfwrite2 device (see
below) as some people do on this list.

Usage: pcl6_cti.exe [option* file]+...
Options: -dNOPAUSE -E[#] -h -C -L<PCL|PCLXL> -n -K<maxK> -P<PCL5C|PCL5E|RTL>
-Z...
         -sDEVICE=<dev> -g<W>x<H> -r<X>[x<Y>] -d{First|Last}Page=<#>
         -sOutputFile=<file> (-s<option>=<string> | -d<option>[=<value>])*
         -J<PJL commands>Version: 1.38
Build date: Fri Jun 25 17:33:06 2004
Devices: ljet4 bmpmono bmp16m bmp32b bitcmyk bitrgb bit pkmraw
 ppmraw pgmraw pbmraw pcx16 pcx256 pcx24b cljet5 pcxmono pcxcmyk
pcxgray pxlmono pxlcolor tiffcrle tiffg3 tiffg32d tiffg4 tifflzw tiffpack
 tiff12nc tiff24nc pswrite jpeg nullpage

Also I do seem to have a problem with re-direction. When I try to use
something like

pcl6.exe >log.txt

I will get a 0 Byte long "log.txt" file and the text is printed in the
command window. Same when I try to re-direct the "%%PageCount" output to a
file

Basically what I trying to accomplish is to call a pcl6.exe commandline from
a VB6 Program as a PCL to PDF converter that also gives me back the number
of pages converted.

TIA, Joe
