Blork!  I'm not a C developer, so when pcl6 segfaults, we must look to
folks wiser than us :)

I notice that you're sending output to the "pswrite" device.  
I'm not sure about the font translation abilities under these circumstances - 
The only testing that I've done with soft fonts is to use the "pdfwrite" output.  
Perhaps one of the pcl6 developers would be able to shed some light, 
or point you in the right direction.  Sorry!
