I have tried printing to my Canon i960 while running the command you suggested.
The first few times I ran it, the prints started within 10 seconds of hitting
the print que. This was very surprising behavior as I had just finished a print
run earlier this evening that behaved as I have described previously. I then
rebooted the computer and reprinted the same image with the command as you
suggested. This time it was in que for 50 seconds. The output of the commad is
quite different before and after the boot.
First is before the boot with a ten second print que:
