Note there is a safe or "can't fail" pxBeginSession() call during initialization
(px_top_init) so it should be sufficient to set have_page anywhere in
pxBeginSession.

Let me know if you want to finish this up and collect the bounty or if you want
me to do it, you've already done the analysis, might as well get the cash.  Also
the bitmap font problem is bountiable as well.
