Jaws doesn't cache paths, but if a path is gsave/grestore'd, it does (in effect)
cache any scan-converted shape. That is, if a path has once been scan-converted
it doesn't get done again.

No idea if that's behind the issue or not. I'd be happy to investigate the issue
further when I get home if this is thought to be desirable.
