I don't know, this is quite a mess. The U breve character under Helvetica 12
point is a downloaded TrueType character that has set the metrics (advance in
the hmtx table) to be 0, so the Artifex interpreter is correct and we are left
to emulate an undocumented fall back in the HP printer. We notice the HP output
does not have the expected spacing for the character, a bit wider than expected.
We've seen pcl documents with downloaded fonts that have corrupt hmtx tables
but explicit spacing using pcl commands are used, so no problem arises.
