The attached test file band.clip noticeably clips the 'a' character when banding.

./pcl6 -dMaxBitmap=100000000 -sDEVICE=ppmraw -sOutputFile=foo.ppm -r300
/Users/henrys/band.clip

works okay

./pcl6 -sDEVICE=ppmraw -sOutputFile=foo.ppm -r300 /Users/henrys/band.clip

clips part of the 'a' character.
