I see what you meant. The patch is valid, so we should commit it as is. Thanks
for the report and the patch.

My confusion with your description is that if you are only interested in
building the latest gs, rather than trying to make a release, 
you can just type "make -f psi/msvc32.mak" from an svn checkout, without
step 2 and the "cd gs8.71" in the first half of step 3 .
