Sort of, but not exactly. The yellow gradient simply peters out, this is
because its 1/10 the size it ought to be....

I have a PDF cut down from the original which shows exactly the same behaviour,
except that the background is white not black. 

Of course *why* Inkscape/Cairo is converting a yellow flat fill into an axial
shading escapes me.
