Hmm, interesting, it really is a PDF file (not a PostScript file as implied by
the .ps suffix).

The file works for me on both Ghostscript 9.0 and 9.01. Its possible that there
is some command line switch which is causing the problem, in which case I would
not expect it to be resolved by moving to 9.01.

But, without knowing how CUPS is invoking Ghostscript, there isn't really a lot
I can offer in the way of advice.

I'm going to close this as 'WORKSFORME', feel free to reopen it if you can find
a Ghostscript command line which shows the problem.
