This appears to be fixed in the current HEAD of the code. I don't have an AIX
box to test on, but running the specimen file through code built from the 9.0
release on a PPC box running Linux exhibited the same problem. Running the
current HEAD code did not.

Personally I would update to the latest, or wait until the next release which
is due in February.
