I have a 220 MB PS file with 36 pages.
gs8 ps2pdf takes 30 minutes.
On the same Linux server, after over 7 hours, gs9.04 is about 1/3 way done
(estimating from the size of the partial pdf).
When we divide the PS into ranges of pages, gs9 takes about 2X as long as gs8
on each range, so the problem is not triggered by a specific page.
I am not sure if this is related to ICC like bug 691914 because that is one of
the more significant differences between gs 8 and 9.
The file is too large to attach here or email, and the problem happens only
with the entire file, so we can't make a small example.
If you want, we can send the file by mail on a CD.
