PDF/A (archive format) has a new version 2 which has recently been adopted by
the standards committee.

The main change is the inclusion of transparency, but there may be other
aspects to it (almost certainly there are). 

We now have a concrete customer request to implement this version of the
specification as an output from pdfwrite.
