Yes, you're quite right. We had the same problem with our proprietary
TT renderer, for the same reason, and felt exactly the same way as you.
Unfortunately the font (and a couple of others from DynaLab) are very
big in China.
I vaguely recall our hack was to turn off AA for fonts like this.
You should see what happens to them if you scale non-orthogonally in X
& Y!
