NEW BUGS
--------
#687389 - USER - Problem converting files from PDF to TIFF
assign: ray?
User says that part of a grid pattern is lost after conversion to
tiff. I've confirmed in CVS HEAD.
#687392 - USER - Margins wrong on HP-Laserjet long-edge duplex backsides
assign: ??
The driver for HP-Laserjet printers sets the margins for (at least)
HP-LJ4 with <esc>&l-180u36Z, which is wrong when long-edge duplex
printing is done. User has some suggestions for how to fix the
problem.
#687393 - USER - Hang with 8.14 from command line
assigned: ray
Alex confirms and infinite loop testing the users file.
#687394 - TOPTEN - Images not downsampled at some resolutions
customer: #1110
assign: igor?
The distiller parameter documentation for
ColorImageDownsampleThreshold isn't particularly well worded, but my
understanding is that if ColorImageResolution=150 and
ColorImageDownsampleThreshold=1.5, then any images with resolution
greater than 150*1.5=225dpi will be downsampled to 150dpi. This is
consistent with the user interface of Distiller.
I've found that an image with resolution of 300dpi is downsampled to
150dpi as expected when using threshold 1.0 to 1.9. An image with a
fractionally smaller resolution is not downsampled. Attached is an
example PostScript file and a script to process it. Change the
"scale" line in the PostScript file to get different results.
#687395 - USER - PDF files with "lines merge" enabled process incorrectly
assign: ray?
PDF v1.4 files created with "lines merge" enabled from AutoCAD spool
to 10 times the size than that of printing through Acrobat. Many users
of Xerox and Oce plotters run GS to process PDF's.
#687396 - USER - PDF Conversion of PS doc fails with large image
User says that PDF produced by Ghostscript renders incorrectly in
Acrobat Reader.
#687397 - USER - Segmentation Fault using -dDOINTERPOLATE
assign: ray?
Under certain circumstances gs crashes when image interpolation is
turned on with -dDOINTERPOLATE. On my RedHat 9.0 system, the following
command leads to an segmentation fault: gs -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE
-dDOINTERPOLATE -sDEVICE=jpeg -sOutputFile=test.jpg test.pdf
#687398 - INTERNAL - A missed dependency in makefiles
submitted by: igor
assign: ralph?
Igor reports a missed depencency in the makefile.
#687399 - INTERNAL - Unused image_render_frac in gxi16bit.c
submitted by: igor
assign: ray?
image_render_frac in gxi16bit.c is an unused huge function made by
copy-n- replace from gxi12bit.c . Remove it ?
#687400 - INTERNAL - Shadings : Different raster from debug and
release builds
submitted by: igor
assigned: igor
gswin32c.exe -r72 -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -sDEVICE=ppmraw
-sOutputFile=out.ppm -c false 0 startjob pop -f -
<CompareFiles\464-01.ps test box 464-01 - function Type 0 MSVC6 debug
& release give a 1 pixel difference.
#687401 - TOPTEN - Attempt to share (local) segments of path
customer: #1110
assign: ray?
Rendering the attached file fails with: src/gxpath.c(132): Attempt to
share (local) segments of path 0x7fffe5a0! This happens with 8.14 and
CVS HEAD. The commandline is: gs -r2000 -sDEVICE=png16m
-sOutputFile=/dev/null -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE pathsharingbug.pdf The error
doesn't happen at 1000dpi, but does happen with several other devices.
