[gs-devel] GPL Ghostscript 8.50 release candidate

Happy New Years, everyone.

It's been a year since we released AFPL Ghostscript 8.50. Our stable 
series is still 8.5x, but as per policy, we're re-releasing the 8.50
source code under the GNU GPL, which allows commercial (but not 
proprietary) use.

I've put together a release candidate. Please give it a test and let
me know if there are any issues with the package. This will become an 
official release on monday, barring any issues.

Please keep in mind though that this is the year-old 8.50 release and 
doesn't include any of the bug fixes the tree has seen since. Those 
changes remain available under the AFPL license. I have however upgraded 
the external libraries (libjpeg, zlib, libpng, jbig2dec and jasper) to 
their respective latest releases, so that code is newer than in the 
original AFPL 8.50 release.
