Mike, I have merged your Duplex support into the PXL driver of GPL GS 
8.57 now:

Tray selection and all of the color fixes in ESP GhostScript were 
already in the current SVN of GPL GhostScript.

Can you test the patch and especially check whether it is compatible 
with your PPD files (in GPL GS in contrib/cups),

Patch can be applied with

patch -p1 < ghostscript-8.57-pxl-duplex.patch

Is then still anything of ESP GhostScript missing in GPL GhostScript?
