Asunto: [gs-devel] Problem converting to PDF/A

Hi all,

I'm trying to convert PDF to PDF/a using ghostscript 8.71 but I've found
some problems with the attached simple pdf document (test.pdf) and others.

The problem is that the produced PDF is (I think) wrong. I mean, If I tried
to extract the plain text I get odd characters in random positions over the
document, while the original document is right.

I've seen that font names has been changed for something like:
X-OneByteIdentityH and CID

The command I'm using is:

gs -P -dPDFA -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE -dNOOUTERSAVE -dUseCIEColor
-dProcessColorModel=/DeviceCMYK -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sOutputFile=result.pdf
/home/user/resources/PDFA_def.ps test.pdf

I attach the in and out PDFs, the PDFA_def.ps and the icc profile.

Any idea of how can I achieve the right plain text.

My environment is Fedora 14

Thanks in advance,

Vicente Guardiola
