[gs-devel] PDF X/1-a:2001 conversion?

Periodically  I need to ask this question. Are the Ghostscript gurus 
considering this form of output? The largest POD printer in the world, 
LSI requires pdf x/1-a for all book covers and also for all colored 
book interiors.  Many copies of Acrobat Distiller are bought just to 
satisfy this requirement. 

I get by by using the bleeding edge developmental version of Scribus, 
1.5.0. But for files created by other means the gap is still there.
