Subject: [gs-test] AFPL Ghostscript 7.20 released

artofcode LLC and Artifex Software, Inc. are please to announce the 
release of the first development snapshot since the 7.0x stable branch. 
It's available from the usual locations; the primary sites being 
primarily:

	ftp://mirror.cs.wisc.edu/pub/mirrors/ghost/AFPL/test/
	http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/ghostscript/

New in this release:

	* Support for external font renderers such as Agfa's UFST

	* new 'diskn' feature emulated the '%disk' devices found on some 
Adobe printers

	* The security flag -dSAFER now restricts reading as well as 
writing of files outside the permitted directories, and thus is 
equivalent to '-dSAFER -dPARANOIDSAFER'  in the 7.04 release. This 
improves system security, but will cause problems with some viewers, 
which will need updating. A patch is available for gv.

Also, the following have been ported form the recent stable release:

	* Patch to close a serious security hole where PostScript code 
could cause arbitrary commands to be executed.

	* This release integrates the new IJS driver for raster output 
devices, making it easier to add and upgrade printer drivers without 
needing to recompile Ghostscript.

	* The build system now includes a configure script, generated by 
GNU autoconf for simplified compilation on Unix platorms. Thos who enjoy 
hand-editing the makefiles for their platform are still welcome to do so.

And of course the usual feature improvements and minor bug fixing.
