All,

I apologize in advance for this message being slightly off topic,
but I want to make sure that all those affected (all subscribers
to the affected lists) are notified.

I've just corrected a hole in the anti-virus filter (KLEZ type) that
we use on all of the ghostscript.com mailing lists.

If anyone has a message that gets swallowed (we just discard the
ones that are suspicious since the 'reply' creates unwanted traffic)
please let me know and send the forward the original to me so I
can see if I can alter the filter.

The basic principle is that any messages larger than 12,000 bytes
that have an attachment that has one of the FORBIDDEN externsions
(last three characters of the name after a ".") then it will be
discarded.

The FORBIDDEN_EXTENSION list is: .exe .com .vbs .scr .bat .pif

Anyone that knows of yet another extension that can wreak havoc
on STOOPID Windows mail readers, please let me know.

Note that .ps, .pdf, .zip, and .gz and .bz2 attachments are all
allowed.

Regards,
