chrisl | Eek! Not too clever :-( | 09:41.46 |
kens | Nope, I'd wondered why the share price had dropped 10%.... | 09:42.02 |
chrisl_r61 | kens: ping | 14:06.31 |
kens | pong | 14:06.48 |
chrisl_r61 | Did you want the new pdfwrite colour stuff mentioned in the "highlights", or not? | 14:07.20 |
kens | chrisl : definitely not! | 14:07.34 |
| Its by no means finished and there are some weird problems | 14:07.50 |
chrisl_r61 | Okay, I didn't know if you wanted it mentioned as being an alpha or beta level feature | 14:08.28 |
kens | ASlso, in light of the mail exchange I've beenhaving with Andrew Aldridge, I need to speak to Michael some more :-) | 14:08.42 |
chrisl_r61 | kens: oh, right, I guess that hasn't gone to support, then | 14:09.19 |
kens | chrisl : yes and no, some has been to support, but he kept dropping support off, so I gave up. The most recent stuff hasn't | 14:09.46 |
chrisl_r61 | kens: Okay, I just thought I'd check - thanks | 14:11.36 |
kens | No problem | 14:11.59 |
henrys | chrisl_r61 last I checked MuPDF third party was a broken link. | 16:33.40 |
| oh chris left, maybe for does that anyway. | 16:53.44 |
| s/for/tor | 16:54.29 |
| marcosw: what's noisy in these xeon boxes - like to get one if I can quiet it down. If it is just the fan it can be fixed pretty easily from what I've read. | 16:55.39 |
chrisl | henrys: what mupdf thirdparty link? | 18:01.22 |
henrys | http://mupdf.com/doc/ | 18:02.19 |
| 5th line on page | 18:02.48 |
chrisl | henrys: right, that was tor that did that - I don't (or didn't) have access to the mupdf site | 18:03.07 |
henrys | chrisl: okay | 18:03.48 |
chrisl | henrys: the mupdf.com site is still be hosted in Tor's user area on casper, not in the "central" /var/www directory | 18:04.37 |
henrys | chrisl:you have root no? | 18:05.06 |
chrisl | henrys: I do, but I don't think it "proper" to use to go poking around in other user's files..... | 18:05.44 |
| I suppose for this it would be arguably okay | 18:06.11 |
henrys | chrisl: UK'ers are so polite ;-) yeah we'll talk to him when he's about and get it squared away. | 18:06.51 |
chrisl | henrys: I think it stems more from my using Unix from an early-ish age: superuser access is a privalege, do NOT abuse it! | 18:08.01 |
henrys | no I completely agree I was being sarcastic | 18:08.51 |
chrisl | Sure, but I'm serious about that - I had it drummed into me a lot during my formative computing years | 18:10.01 |
ray_laptop | mvrhel_laptop: well, the change that "fixes" cust 532's file breaks other files :-( | 18:10.02 |
henrys | ray_laptop:that sucks | 18:11.34 |
| ray_laptop:I think I fielded everthing from 801 but if I miss something let me know. I haven't been carefully reading all their mail. | 18:12.08 |
ray_laptop | henrys: OK, I'll double check their emails (and your responses) | 18:13.59 |
| henrys: but I guess we are waiting on them for the Blue layer, right ? | 18:14.25 |
henrys | no there was email today about that. I am more concerned with old PCL stuff I might have missed. I'm on top of the current correspondence. | 18:15.31 |
mvrhel_laptop | ray_laptop: dang | 18:18.56 |
ray_laptop | I'm looking for one of the failures that is simple. I may just have to "simplify" one of the hairy ones | 18:25.57 |
mvrhel_laptop | ray_laptop: any of the FTS files fail? Those are usually easy to take apart | 18:34.29 |
| and simple to start with | 18:34.34 |
ray_laptop | mvrhel_laptop: sorry, i've been "dug in" | 19:35.54 |
mvrhel_laptop | ray_laptop: no problem. | 19:36.45 |
| lunch time bbiab | 19:39.06 |
ray_laptop | mvrhel_laptop: One of the simpler ones is tests_private/pdf/sumatra/inefficient_tiling.pdf ALL of the Pattern painting. I've simplified it to a single instance | 19:41.03 |
| Oh crap! That "simple" file, even though it is painting a single image is one of the cairo files. It creates 30 sets of .raw dump images :-( | 19:53.39 |
| and another one is even worse. to make a simple shaded rectangle image is has 44 .raw stages :-( | 20:09.43 |
| there _has_ to be one of these that is not from cairo ! | 20:10.11 |
mvrhel_laptop | yuck | 20:17.29 |
Lojdl | Hello, I'm participating in development of Octave. As part of my project I use GhostScript. And I have a problem converting eps -> bmp (32bit or 24bit). If I have to describe it, it seems that when there are more then one channel changing his state BMP file is corrupted. Do you encountered this and is this maybe a bug fixed from 9.06 (I'm using it)? | 20:23.05 |
ray_laptop | that's better. Got one that screws up with "only" 10 stages of .raw buffers | 20:50.21 |
| Lojdl: you'd have to post a file (bugs.ghostscript.com) and the command line you use. Also you can pull the 9.08 release candidate and try it (or the git head that you have to build) | 20:52.23 |
| Oh oh. This one ONLY fails in clist mode :-( | 21:02.16 |
| and NOT when I use the clist as a single band | 21:05.40 |
| time for lunch | 21:05.45 |
marcosw_ | henrys: the fans are the loud part of the poweredge servers. if you google poweredge loud you can see what people have tried. btw, the general consensus is that the noise insulating racks only help a bit. also there can be more done to quiet a 2U box rather than 1U box, since the small fans in a 1U box have to run fast to move air. | 21:43.46 |
