aliray | hi, I have a greyscale (images) and black (text/vecctors) PDF. Is it possible to convert it to spot colors? | 07:34.32 |
artifexi- | <KenSharp> Possible, yes, simple, no. | 07:34.56 |
aliray | artifexi-, how would you do that? | 07:38.51 |
| starting with black only (text/vector, no greyscale images) | 07:39.51 |
artifexi- | <KenSharp> Decompress the PDF file, create a new PDF colour space for the spot colour, edit the image dictionary so that the ColorSpace points to the newly created colourspace object. Find the text operation, before the text operation insert an appropriate operator to select the newly created colour space, insert the approrpaite operator(s) to set the stroke and/or fill colours to the desired tint. Add the new object to the xref table, update any | 07:41.00 |
| <KenSharp> If desired, recompress the PDF file | 07:41.36 |
| <chrisl> away | 17:25.56 |
| <RayJohnston> oh, that's not too hard. It _might_ be possible to rebuild the xref automatically | 18:03.30 |
| <RayJohnston> if the offsets are wrong, it probably will add the extra objects | 18:04.03 |
aliray | artifexi-, thanks' | 20:46.35 |
