kens ator, sebras, Robin_Watts_ there's a question in comp.lang.postscript about MuPDF this morning. I'm happy to post an answer (assuming nobody else has easy access to UseNet newsgroups) but I don't know what to say, here's the question::07:28.28
I'm only getting started investing how to turn a PDF into EPUB.07:28.46
By default*, "mutool draw" saves pictures within the HTML files as base64, and breaks paragraphs into indepdent lines with <p>…</p>.07:28.46
  mutool draw -F html -o out.%d.html in.pdf07:28.46
I was wondering if there were a way to…07:28.51
  1. Have it keep paragraphs together07:28.51
  2. Save pictures as external JPG/PNG files instead of including them in the HTML f07:28.51
Its the business of saving the images as external files and (presumably) linking to them I don;'t know about07:30.30
sebras kens: saving images extnally to the html isn't something mupdf does today.07:41.26
kens sebras, thanks (sorry internet died) I'll write up a reply on UseNet07:58.26
sebras kens: I don't know if epub support is something ator has ever considered.08:03.59
kens As an outptu formt ? No idea :-)08:04.17
sebras yeah. nope, me neither.08:04.26
kens Just explaining in my reply why there are no paragraphs in a PDF file08:04.58
paulgardiner I think we may be encrypting the digest within the value of a signed signature. It's relatively harmless in that we do this only when trying to write out the initial, all-zero form which we later overwrite most of, but it means we now can see seemingly random data after the true digest.08:18.16
Presumably we aren't decrypting when we read the content from the value, otherwise the signatures wouldn't verify08:45.31
pedr0 hi all, I came across a very puzzling outcome while dealing with a PDF - apparently the rendering mode is set to '3' - namely invisible - yet the text appears on the page16:14.16
  https://pastebin.com/sPcncSpL16:14.16
Would anybody in here be able to point me into the right direction ? I suspect that the 'ri' operation may affect somehow the rendering but the PDF reference wasn't very clear, at least at my level, about what that entails.16:15.52
sebras pedr0: do you mind waiting until monday when most of us mupdf devs are back after the weekend?16:18.11
pedr0 Guys - I am basically asking you a favor soaking in your knowledge. Not need to ask, reply when you can or feel about that16:19.31
  Thanks for now :-)16:19.53
sebras pedr0: to make sure no one forgets you can register a bug at bugs.ghostscript.com and attach the PDF (let me know if you want me to mark it private so only you and us devs see it).16:25.30
pedr0 I don't want to open a bug as I am afraid the problem lies in my poor understanding of the matter - I will re-post the question here on Monday :-)16:33.51
sebras pedr0: alright, thanks for the patience. :)16:35.47
