Absolute colorimetry is different than other "rendering intents". In this case,
the white point normalization should be handled in a different fashion compared
to a relative, perceptual or colorimetric rendering intent.  I will look at this
a bit to see if there is a straight forward  method to handle with the current
color flow.  If it is not easily addressed now, then it will be addressed when
the color architecture under goes a significant redesign.  In the redesign, we
will be moving away from CRDs and moving to ICC profiles, which have internal
rendering intents that correlate with the rendering intents in PDF.

Optional or not, if I were a designer and specified absolute colorimetry for a
portion of my design, I would NOT be happy if it was not properly applied.
